Emotional Wellbeing Programmes for promoting Emotional Wellbeing in Primary School children (HSE)
The HSE (Health Service) provides Emotional Wellbeing Programmes and resources for Primary School Teachers.
1/ Zippy’s Friends: a 24-session programme for teaching social and emotional skills to 5–7-year-olds. Contains session plans and activities, covering topics such as feelings, communication, relationships, conflict resolution and more. Resources are ideal for use in Social, Personal and Health Education classes.
2/ The Friend’s Programme: school-based anxiety prevention and resilience building programmes. Teaching effective strategies to cope with, problem-solve and manage all kinds of emotional distress. The programme can be run by teachers as a whole class programme, or as a small-group intervention.
3/ The Incredible Years Teacher Classroom Management Programme (TCM): a classroom-based prevention and early-intervention programme designed to reduce conduct problems and promote children’s pro-social behaviour.
