‘Promoting Social and Emotional Learning in Physical Education’
This article provides physical educators with principles and guidelines for developing, implementing, and assessing effective strategies for promoting social and emotional learning within their programs. The article focuses on the teacher creating and nurturing, and the students sustaining and working in a positive learning environment with emphasis on CASEL’s (Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning) five core competencies of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) in the Physical Education setting: self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision making, relationship skills, and social awareness.
